FASworld Canada Team

Bonnie Buxton: Writer and editor Buxton is the mother of two adopted daughters, grandmother to Kenny and Vicky and is the co-founder of FASworld Canada and FASDay. Her recently published book on FASD, Damaged Angels has received exuberant reviews from across Canada and the US as the definitive reference book for families and professionals.

Brian Philcox: Retired from the world of corporate communication, Philcox now devotes full time to FASD issues, leading workshops, making presentations and organizing conferences for professionals, caregivers and students. He has been married to Bonnie since 1971, is a Rotarian with the Rotary Club of Scarborough and an avid birder and woodworker.

Colette Philcox: Colette was diagnosed wirth ARND at age 17 and with newfound awareness of her situation, has worked hard to cope with her own range of disabilities. With the assistance of her parents, she is the keen mother of Kenny & Vicky and frequently volunteers as a speaker at FASD conferences and presentations. Bonnie and Brian feel that their work would be severely inhibited were it not for the enthusiastic cooperation of Colette.

Teresa Kellerman: One of the more extrordinary individuals in the FASD field, Teresa is birth mother to Christopher -- an accomplished musician and composer among other talents -- and is adoptive mom to John (FAS) and Kerri (Prader Willi Syndrome). A formidible force in the USA and abroad, Teresa speaks eloquently at conferences in Canada and the US while running one of the more comprehensive websites on FASD in the world. Teresa is a co-founder of FASDay and has been a collaborator, advisor and mentor to Bonnie and Brian since the inception of FASworld Canada.

James Smith: James is a creative designer who came forward in the earliest days of FASworld Canada and is responsible for creating the well known butterfly logo you see on this site and referenced on all FASworld materials.

Gail McLanders:  When Gail lived in the same community as Judy Kay in Sioux Lookout, ON, who is a long-time friend and associate of FASworld, she was inspired by the original FAS Knot to create a stylized stained glass window-hanging in its honour. That same gift from Judy and Gail was our inspiration to create the lapel pin version of the FAS Knot.
